Nearly every phone in Korea has KakaoTalk, and businesses use Kakao Channels the way others use email lists: coupons, booking reminders, order updates. A KakaoTalk QR code opens your Channel link (pf.kakao.com/…) or an Open Chat room (open.kakao.com/o/…) straight in the app.
Get the Channel link from Kakao Business: open your Channel, then Channel URL, and copy it. For an Open Chat room, open the room, tap the menu and choose Share to copy the link. Personal friend codes are generated inside KakaoTalk and cannot be made elsewhere.
Where a KakaoTalk QR code helps
Shops and cafes
"Add our channel for 1,000 won off" at the counter grows the list that brings repeat visits.
Academies and clinics
Parents and patients add the channel to ask questions and get reminders.
Communities
Open Chat codes on posters gather fans, alumni or neighbours in one room.
How to make a KakaoTalk QR code
- 1
Copy your Channel URL from Kakao Business, or the Open Chat share link.
- 2
Paste it here. Kakao yellow is too light for the dots, so use dark brown or black.
- 3
Download and scan with the phone camera to check KakaoTalk opens.
