QR codes for flyers, posters and print ads

Print used to be impossible to measure. A separate editable code on each flyer, poster and mailing tells you exactly which one worked.

Codes worth printing

One code per placement

If the bus-stop poster, the magazine ad and the flyer all share one code, you only learn the total. Give each placement its own editable code and the stats show scans by time, city and device for each one.

Add UTM tags to each code’s link so the visits also appear separately in your web analytics.

Design for a glance

Say what the scan gets people: "Scan for 20% off" beats a bare code. Size the code for the reading distance, about one tenth of it, and keep strong contrast. A branded code with your colours and logo gets noticed; check its scan score before printing.

Fix mistakes after printing

A typo in the link or a landing page that moves is fatal for a static code on 5,000 flyers. An editable code lets you correct the destination in seconds. On Pro, destination rules can also route scans by country, device or time and A/B test pages.

Questions

Use an editable code for that flyer. Every scan is counted with the time, approximate city and device, and you can export the data as CSV.

Yes, if you use web analytics. Scan stats count scans; UTM tags show what those visitors did on your site.

About one tenth of the distance people read it from: a poster seen from 2 m needs a code about 20 cm wide.
