How to make a QR code with a logo
A logo in the middle works because QR codes carry spare data. Keep the logo small, keep the corners clear and keep the contrast high, and it will scan.
Why a logo does not break the code
QR codes use error correction: part of the pattern repeats the data, so a phone can still read it when some squares are missing. At the highest level about 30% of the code can be lost. A logo hides some squares in the centre, and error correction fills them back in.
When you add a logo here, the code switches to the highest level automatically.
Size, place and colour
Keep the logo to roughly a fifth to a quarter of the code width, and never cover the three large corner squares. A logo with its own light background or a small white border reads better than one that blends into the pattern.
Use your brand colour for the squares only if it is dark enough; deep blues, greens, reds and purples work, pale tints do not. Put a contrasting colour on the corner squares for a branded look.
Making one
Logos are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
- 1Enter your link in the generator.
- 2Upload your logo (PNG, JPG or SVG) under Logo.
- 3Adjust the size until the scan check says "Scans well", then download SVG or PDF for print.
